Klasmann-Deilmann will showcase its latest future-ready innovations at GreenTech 2026
Klasmann-Deilmann will present its latest innovations for professional horticulture at GreenTech Amsterdam from 9 to 11 June 2026 (RAI Amsterdam, Stand 05.403). The company’s presence at the international leading trade fair focuses on one central theme: innovation as the key to future-ready, sustainable cultivation systems.
The transformation of the substrate industry is progressing rapidly. Regulatory requirements, resource scarcity, and climate targets are placing increasing demands on growers worldwide.
Klasmann-Deilmann responds to these challenges with a broad portfolio of innovative growing media products and growing solutions designed to ensure reliable crop performance while reducing environmental impact.
“At GreenTech, we demonstrate how innovation translates into practical solutions for our customers,” says Sebastian Kipp, Director Innovation at Klasmann-Deilmann. “Our aim is to support growers with reliable, high-performance growing media and cultivation systems that contribute to climate-friendly and economically viable production.”
Product highlights at GreenTech 2026
Growcoon: Flexible propagation system for automated cultivation
Growcoon is a biodegradable propagation system designed for modern, automated nurseries. Its open, flexible net structure ensures optimal oxygen exchange and promotes strong, uniform root development. When used with loose-filled propagation substrates, Growcoon creates stable root balls, allowing for shorter propagation cycles and reducing failure rates, especially for sensitive crops.

The system can be adapted with different sizes to various crops or tray formats and integrates seamlessly into automated processes, supporting efficient and scalable young plant production.
Sphaxx: Controlled-quality sphagnum moss alternative
With Sphaxx, Klasmann-Deilmann presents a sustainably cultivated raw material that combines the proven properties of natural sphagnum moss with high purity and consistent quality. Grown specifically under controlled conditions, Sphaxx ensures a very high purity and homogeneity as well as hygienic safety, making it particularly suitable for sensitive crops such as orchids and bromeliads.
Growbag ADVANCED and Log & Solve: Integrated cultivation solutions
The Growbag ADVANCED concept is based on the innovative GreenFibre Mix and combines high performance in fruit, vegetable, and strawberry cultivation with reduced CO₂ emissions. It enables growers to implement sustainable cultivation methods without compromising yield or crop quality.
In combination with digital tools such as the Log & Solve crop management dashboard, growers gain valuable insights into cultivation parameters, allowing data-driven optimization of crop management and improved resource efficiency.
TerraCoal and ADVANCED Substrates: Towards climate-neutral growing media
The ADVANCED Substrate range continues to set standards in peat-reduced and peat-free growing media. By combining renewable raw materials such as GreenFibre, TerrAktiv, and coir, these substrates ensure reliable crop performance while significantly lowering emissions.

A key innovation is TerraCoal, a next-generation biochar produced through a pyrolysis process. It acts as a long-term carbon sink, improves substrate properties, and enables the development of growing media with a net-zero carbon footprint. The climate benefits associated with TerraCoal can only be claimed when a corresponding CO₂ certificate is purchased. These certificates provide additional transparency for growers and support the optimization of their corporate carbon footprints.
Knowledge exchange and technical expertise
As part of the GreenTech program, Klasmann-Deilmann's Sebastian Kipp will present a technical session on 9 June at 14:00 titled: New solutions for reduction of CO₂ emissions in growing media.
The presentation will focus on the role of innovative substrate components in reducing and compensating emissions along the horticultural value chain. Particular attention will be given to TerraCoal as a carbon-storing material and its contribution to climate-neutral production systems.
