SanLucar opens a new overseas warehouse in the Netherlands
Leading premium fresh produce grower and distributor SanLucar opened a new logistics and administrative site in Ridderkerk, the Netherlands. Located near Rotterdam, the new facilities aim to support the company’s growing overseas business.
In a press release, the firm explained that the modern hub consolidates key functions along the value chain, marking a milestone in the further development of its international businesses. Additionally, the company said its Benelux day-to-day operations for the region are also integrated at this location.
“At the new site, logistics, sales, warehouse management, packaging, ripening, and quality management are consolidated,” the release reads.

This integration, the firm claims, enables more efficient processes and faster coordination and creates additional capacity to grow overseas categories and strengthen the brand’s presence in the Benelux retail market.
“With the new location in Ridderkerk, we are creating the conditions to manage our overseas business even more precisely and efficiently. At the same time, it is a strong signal of our sustainable growth and the consistent further development of our international activities,” says SanLucar CEO Armin Rehberg.

From the new SanLucar Benelux Fresh Hub, the firm will henceforth manage its banana, avocado, mango, pineapple, citrus, table grape, berry, and stone fruit business. The facilities will also consolidate the firm’s overseas operations, including packing, quality control, and distribution. Featuring a high level of automation, the hub will manage 24/7 controls and optimal storage conditions, with a clear focus on operational excellence and consistently high product quality and freshness.
“From SanLucar Farms and Origins via Rotterdam to our Retail Partners and the Fork of the Consumers, we see ourselves ideally positioned to deliver added value and services both nationally and internationally,” said Rehberg added.
