Peruvian mango exports 95% lower in last 4 weeks
Statistics released by Peruvian market consultancy Inform@cción have revealed the extent of delays for the country's mango exports, with a 95% fall on last year's figures in recent weeks.
Data for weeks 46 to 49 show mango shipments dropped by 6,866 metric tons (MT) year-on-year to 329MT.
Data shows that around 7%, or 23.6MT, of shipments have been under the conserved category.
While exports have been down during the current season, the yearly shipment total of 137,457MT is still higher than last year's figure of 115,537MT.
