Spain: Westfalia to exhibit at Fruit Attraction for first time in 2017

The avocado company has also recently completed its first phase of plantings in nearby Portugal. 

South Africa-based multinational Westfalia Fruit Group is planning its inaugural participation as an exhibitor at industry trade fair Fruit Attraction, to be held in Madrid, Spain on Oct. 18-20.

In a release, the group said its global marketing and supply chain capabilities will be on show at the stand with representation by members of the European, North and South American, and African operations. 

The grower-marketer highlighted its new production facility in Portugal, Westfalia Fruit Iberia, recently completed its 2017 phase of plantings.

"Situated within a Portuguese micro-climate and designed to become Europe’s largest avocado orchard, the operation grows the well-known Hass variety, together with a significant acreage of the “Gourmet Avocado” known as GEM®," Westfalia said.

"Westfalia Fruit looks forward to welcoming guests to its stand to discuss and plan the exciting future of the European, and global, avocado market."
