U.S.: Westlake-Miller changes name to Always Fresh Farms

Florida-based fresh produce supplier Westlake-Miller LLC is now doing business as Always Fresh Farms, keeping the same label it has marketed for more than a decade but making "big changes" in its operations.

In a release, the group said many positive changes had taken place since its split from Westlake Produce a year ago.

"We continue to improve on our vertical integration and build stronger partnerships at the grower level, we want our name to represent the label consumers see in the store," Always Fresh Farms president Wayne Giddings said.

"Rest assured, Always Fresh Farms will continue to provide the same customer service and year-round availability across berry, citrus, and melon categories our partners and customers have come to expect."

In addition to expanding grower resources both domestically internationally, the company has also hired four new employees

As one of the largest strawberry growers in Florida, Always Fresh Farms continues to expand its growing area and highlighted all 550 acres of its strawberry land survived Hurricane Irma and should have one of the best seasons ever in 2017-18.

"Our import market continues to expand with import blueberries from Mexico, British Columbia and the southern hemisphere," the group said.

"Year round supplies, with smooth transitions from region to region, domestic to import, will ensure consistent supply of your berry needs, ensuring that our blueberries are always available and Always Fresh."
