Alpine Fresh invests in ABB Growers
Grower, packer, and marketer Alpine Fresh invested in ABB Growers, a European blueberry specialist based in Horst, the Netherlands.
The move brings together two companies with a shared obsession: bringing the best berries from farm to market, sustainably and efficiently.
Through this partnership, Alpine Fresh and ABB Growers are building a future centered around quality, reliability, scale, and innovation. By combining global sourcing, strong local networks, and advanced technology, the companies are uniquely positioned to supply customers year-round with a consistent, high-quality product offering.

Alpine Fresh is bolstering its berry capabilities in Europe
ABB Growers has spent over 25 years building one of Europe's strongest blueberry networks, connecting growers across three continents to leading retailers through its state-of-the-art sorting and packing facility in Horst. Alpine Fresh adds global scale, a multi-berry portfolio spanning blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries, and access to exclusive and semi-exclusive premium varieties that set its farms and customers apart.
The result: European retailers can now source a full berry program year-round through a single partner, giving them access to the best premium variety programs in the world and added geographical diversity, on a platform built for long-term partnerships.

ABB Growers' founder Fred Douven and Alpine Fresh's Stefan Spanjaard will jointly lead the company as Co-CEOs.
"ABB Growers has built something special: real relationships, real operational capability," said Walter Yager, CEO of Alpine Fresh. "We're here to add to that, not change it. Our operations complement each other extremely well.”
"Alpine Fresh brings scale, new varieties, and a bigger stage for our farms and customers," added Fred Douven. "The quality and service our customers know from us isn't going anywhere."
