APEAM to appoint new Director General in September
Through a post on their website, the Association of Avocado Producers and Exporters of Mexico (APEAM) announced it will appoint a new Director General. Luis Javier de la Rocha Zazueta will step up into the role on September 17, marking the end of Armando López Orduña's 14-year tenure.
The move follows a decision by the General Assembly of Delegates and has the support of the producer and packing sectors that comprise the organization.
According to the announcement, the leadership change aims to ensure institutional continuity and support strategic projects focused on sustainability and competitiveness across the export avocado value chain.
During his time at APEAM, López Orduña played a role in strengthening the industry and expanding market access for Mexican avocados. The organization credited him for “his ability to liaise with national and international bodies, as well as for his contribution to the opening and consolidation of markets for Mexican avocados.”
APEAM thanked López Orduña for “his professionalism and commitment,” and reaffirmed its mission to represent both producers and packers “fairly and responsibly, under the principles of transparency, innovation, and sustainability.”
