FreshEdge's CEO transitions to Chairman and announces successor

Through a press release, Indiana-based food distributor FreshEdge announced that its current CEO, Steve Grinstead, will become Chairman by the end of December 2025. The executive, the company says, will continue to be actively involved in the business, focusing on industry, supplier, and customer relations.

“The time is right to pass the torch," Grinstead says. "I have had the privilege to lead this best-in-class family of fresh food companies, and its continued growth and success are very important to me, so staying on as Chairman will be an honor."

Grinstead has over 50 years of experience in all facets of the fresh food industry and has been FreshEdge's CEO since mid-2019. During his tenure, he led the growth of the family of companies, as well as the expansion to 25 facilities, 1,200 fleet assets, and 2,800 employees.

“It has been an honor to work alongside an industry icon and my friend, Steve Grinstead, over the years," said FreshEdge's President, Greg Corsaro. "I am glad this is not a farewell, but a continuance of what we’ve built."

A new CEO for FreshEdge

A seasoned business leader with extensive experience in retail and food distribution across the United States and Canada, Andrew Iacobucci will succeed Grinstead as CEO. Grinstead says the company's new CEO is an excellent leader, with the experience and demeanor to lead an organization as large and diverse as FreshEdge.

The executive's background in merchandising, supply chain, and sales and pricing functions, combined with his strategic mindset and prior leadership roles, provides him with a stellar list of credentials to lead FreshEdge.

“I am honored to succeed Steve as FreshEdge’s CEO," says Iacobucci in the announcement. "I am fortunate to continue to work with Steve and Greg in my new role and am humbled by the confidence that Wind Point and the FreshEdge Board of Directors have in me.  I look forward to continuing my work with FreshEdge in this new role.”

Iacobucci was CEO of Rona (Montreal) and Chief Commercial Officer and Interim CEO of US Foods. Additionally, he has worked closely with Grinstead and Corsaro, as well as the company's sales leaders and operating companies, to refine and enhance its customer-obsessed sales strategy.

This collaboration ideally positions him to partner with Greg and Steve during this leadership transition.

"We are committed to making the transition from Steve to Andrew a successful one," added Corsaro. " We have built a strong group of dedicated leaders across FreshEdge and all of its operating companies."
