Avocados adjust course: US arrivals dip sharply as Europe picks up steam
Avocado imports into the United States declined week-on-week in early February, Avobook’s week 6 report notes. Conversely, arrivals into Europe posted strong growth.

By the end of week 5, the US recorded an estimated 1,827 avocado shipments, down eight percent from the previous week, but 12 percent higher year-on-year. Mexico continues to dominate supplies with a 97 percent market share.

California increased shipments 39 percent week-on-week, while Chile maintained a limited presence in the US.
Europe sees greener pastures with higher arrivals
The Old Continent showed the strongest momentum in week 6, with 793 shipments, up 23 percent from the previous week and 13 percent above 2025. Israel led European supply with 29 percent of the total volume received, followed by Spain at 25 percent, and Colombia at 22 percent.
Shipments from Colombia and Chile increased notably during the week. Prices in Rotterdam fluctuated about four percent, but remained broadly in line with the prior week.

In China, week 6 arrivals totaled 25 shipments, down 11 percent from the previous week but 67 percent higher than the same period last year. Chile accounted for 92 of the market, with occasional shipments from Peru and Mexico.
Prices showed little movement overall, although size 18 avocados increased by roughly eight percent week-on-week.
