Spanish plant nursery Planasa has released two extra early strawberry varieties, Sahara and Safari and one early variety called Dream.
Sahara is a very early, high quality variety, similar to another Planasa variety, Sabrosa, manager Alexandre Pierron explained. The fruit 
is intended for subtropical climates like Florida and Central Mexico.
Sahara, on the other hand, is meant for gourmet markets throughtout Europe.
Early variety Dream was created for production areas in Northern Europe. The fruit is large, has a smooth red color and is sweet with slighy acidity. The plant has high output, according to Planasa, despite crop conditions.
