U.S.: Limoneira and Suntreat boost business collaboration

California-based companies Limoneira and Suntreat have announced further 'go-to-market' strategic initiatives in a bid to boost sales volumes both domestically and internationally.

Suntreat, part of the AC Foods family, has 18,000 acres of citrus production in the San Joaquin Valley.

A release said that throughout its 60-year history, Suntreat has grown, packed and sold Californian citrus including lemons, oranges and specialty varieties.

"Limoneira and Suntreat have worked together for a number of years and elevating our alliance made sense," said Limoneira chief operation officer Alex Teague.

Suntreat president Darren Filkins said the company was in a "high growth mode" and was running to meet the needs of customers even with the increasing acreage.

"Our companies have complementary strengths and this alliance enables us to continue to be the preferred partner for our customers with citrus," he said.

"Just as important, it will enable both entities to realize strategic goals even more quickly."

Limoneira director of global sales John Carter said: "Furthering our business collaboration with Suntreat will enable us to build on our One World of Citrusâ„¢ model and increase our volumes to North American and International markets."

"Our goal is to be everything citrus to our global customer base and provide best-in-class quality and consistency. We'll get them the varieties they want whenever and wherever they want them."
