Dole rides the health and wellness trend wave to higher YoY revenue

Fresh produce giant Dole reported a “solid start to the year,” with 11.6 percent revenue year-on-year growth, totaling $2.3 billion. In the company’s Q1 financial results, the group also posted net income of $37.7 million, down over 17 percent from 2025.

The firm celebrated the numbers, attributing them to robust consumer demand across key markets. But despite benefiting from an ever-growing health and wellness trend and the adoption of GLP-1 medication, the firm cited geopolitical disruptions as one of its main challenges looking ahead.

“While we are experiencing complexity in the operating environment due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, we believe the strength of our broad and resilient business model positions us well to manage these evolving conditions,” said Carl McCann, Executive Chairman.

The executive remains optimistic, however, saying Dole continues to target a full-year adjusted EBITDA of “at least $400 million.”

Higher sourcing costs hit Dole

The firm attributed revenue growth to strong operational performance across all segments, driven by higher produce prices worldwide and a favorable foreign exchange rate.

Dole’s Q1 financial results show gross profit remains steady, with a slight 1.5 percent increase. The modest uptick, the company says, resulted from higher revenue partially offset by higher fruit sourcing costs in the Fresh Fruit segment.

The latter also led to a 4.3 percent decline in Adjusted EBITDA, said the firm. The figure totaled $4.5 million, but was partially offset by good performance in the Diversified Fresh Produce - Americas & ROW segment, as well as a favorable impact of foreign currency translation.

The report also addressed the significant 17 percent decline in net income, which the company attributed to higher tax charges and lower equity-method earnings.
