Peru remains the world's leading producer and exporter of table grapes, said the country’s Directorate of Economic Studies at the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI).
According to official data, table grape exports totaled $790 million in the first half of 2026, representing more than a 17 percent year-on-year increase.

In recent years, Peru has positioned itself as the world's top grape exporter, surpassing traditional powerhouses such as Chile, the United States, and Italy. This leadership, MINAGRI says, has been built on a solid foundation of varietal innovation, logistical efficiency, climate adaptation, and market access.
The United States remains the main destination for Peruvian table grapes, with exports reaching $446 million between January and June. This reflects a year-on-year expansion of over 11 percent. In terms of volume, shipments remained stable at 275,000 metric tons.
The category’s second market was Mexico, with sales of nearly $94 million, up 46 percent from the same period last year.
Furthermore, new destinations with no recorded exports in 2025 emerged in the market. period. Notable examples include Israel ($9.3 million) and China ($21.6 million). New markets include Taiwan, Greece, Ireland, Lebanon, and Cambodia.

Likewise, longstanding markets such as Mexico, Spain, China, and Colombia also experienced impressive growth, MINAGRI says.
Currently, Peru leads table grape production and exports, with more than 40 varieties, including Sweet Globe, Crimson Seedless, and Arra 15, which have gained wide consumer acceptance.
The industry also benefits from the Chancay port, a true 'game changer' that reduces transit times and costs to Asian markets and has consolidated Peru's position as a logistically superior supplier in the Southern Hemisphere.
