The value of Peru’s exports have grown 30% between January and September but still lack far behind levels seen in 2008, the country’s exporters association ADEX said in a statement.

Fresh fruit –mainly table grapes and avocado, as well as asparagus have been notable exceptions to the flat overall trend, the reported added.

The US continues to be the principal trading partner of Peru and received just over US$ 4 billion in goods. However in the last year China has increased it’s consumption of Peruvian products and is now is almost equal to the US in the value of exports received. The US has a share of 16.6% of Peruvian exports and China 16.5%.
