Peruvian agriculture exports to reach US $2.55 billion in 2011

The total value of agricultural exports from Peru should reach US $2.55 billion in 2011 led principally by fruits and vegetables, the country’s exporters association APEX said in a statement.

Although a further breakdown nor comparison numbers were provided, the report said that agricultural exports are a key growth point in the 12.8% growth that is expected for “non-traditional” exports to reach US $8.72 billion in 2011.

Peru’s main export commodity is minerals and metals, which along with fish and coffee make up the country’s “traditional” exports.

Exports from Peru across all commodities and sectors are expected to grow by 10% and reach a total value of US $37.32 billion.
