IFPA 2025 comes to a close, marked by record attendance and new intelligence platform

The International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA)’s Global Produce & Floral Show has come to an end after three days of drawing produce and floral professionals from more than 50 countries and featuring nearly 1,100 exhibitors.

The organization said this year's event marked the largest representation of global retailers to date, with attendance from international representatives from some of the largest retailers and around 3,500 buyers.

The Foundation for Fresh Produce’s annual 5K run also had a record turnout, which surpassed last year’s 830 participants.

“The Global Show brought out the best in worldwide fresh fruit, vegetable, and flower innovations this year,” said IFPA CEO Cathy Burns. "United by our bold beliefs and relentless advocacy, we are driving innovation, efficiency, and positive change for our members and industry.”

In her annual State of the Industry presentation, Burns outlined progress on IFPA’s “Fight for Fresh” initiative. Throughout her speech she asked members to "fight for fresh", amid a highly disruptive and challenging period for the fruit and vegetable industry.

IFPA keep on growing

Among big announcements and debuts, Burns unveiled IFPA's Global Intelligence Engine, a new data-driven platform for members. The proprietary tool offers real-time point-of-sale insights, as well as import, export, production, and consumer trend data for fruits, vegetables, and floral products.

She also announced the start of development on a Global Sustainability Framework for Produce and Floral, created in collaboration with the Consumer Goods Forum. The framework aims to guide the sector on sustainability standards and shared metrics.

Other general sessions, educational programs, and networking events—including the Education Festival, Food Safety and Tech Xchange, and Innovation Hub—featured discussions on industry trends and technological advances.

“A heartfelt thank you to our exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, and guests for joining us in Anaheim,” said Burns. “I can't wait for Orlando in 2026!”
