Brazilian apple industry rebounds with 222 percent surge in export revenue
The Brazilian apple industry is experiencing a strong production recovery. The 2025/26 cycle just marked a sharp rebound from last season’s low yields, which fell short of the historical million-plus average.

According to recent Comex Stat data published by specialized economic research platform HF Brasil, the country exported 38,000 metric tons of apples from January through May 2026—a threefold increase compared to the same period last year. Export revenue reached $39.64 million, a massive 222 percent year-on-year uptick.
This growth is driven by both greater fruit availability and improved harvest quality, HF Brasil stated.
Brazilian apple key markets
India, Saudi Arabia, and Russia emerged as the primary destinations during this period, collectively accounting for 76 percent of total exports.

“Considering that domestic inventories still show ample fruit availability, the expectation is that the current pace of exports will continue in the coming months. This should help ensure a less negative trade balance for the sector by the end of 2026,” HF Brasil said in the update.
