Brazilian apple exports triple in the first half of 2026
Brazil has tripled its apple exports during 2026 compared to the same period last year, according to the country's official foreign trade database, Comex Stat.
In the period between January and May, the biggest Latin American economy shipped 38,000 tons of fruit, rolling in $39.6 million FOB. Preliminary figures reflect a 222 percent increase in revenue over last year.

The increase in both shipping volume and returns comes after a less-than-ideal 2024/25 season, when a smaller crop led to lower export volumes, which in turn resulted in higher import rates, creating a significant trade deficit within the sector.
Brazilian apple exports set to continue to expand
According to Hortifruti, an ag-focused market analysis branch of Brazil's Center for Advanced Studies on Applied Economics (CEPEA), the sector is not only celebrating larger crops and growing shipments but also improving fruit quality. This, they say, has further supported higher export volumes, largely absorbed by India, Saudi Arabia, and Russia, which together account for 76 percent of Brazilian apple exports.

Domestic availability of the fruit remains steady, says the government agency, which should further support export growth during the remainder of the season.
