China's table grape exports to Russia triple, reaching record $81 million in 2025
Chinese table grape exports to Russia reached record-breaking levels in 2025, according to Russian news outlet Oreanda News. Shipments of the commodity tripled last year, totaling 47.7 thousand tons, marking a new milestone in the agrotrade relationship between the two countries.
Growth was also reflected in sales, which grew 3.2 times over to more than $81 million.
Exports from the Asian Giant to the European country decreased by 29 percent in December, right after the milestone was achieved. In the last month of the year, table grape exports totaled only 9.3 tons. However, the figure still shows impressive year-over-year growth, almost doubling in size.
These numbers have given Russia greater prominence in its market portfolio, rising from 10th to 6th among China's top table grape export countries. Above the European country are Vietnam with 180.5 thousand tons, followed by Thailand (122.1 thousand), Indonesia (110.3 thousand), Kyrgyzstan (96.2 thousand), and the Philippines (83.7 thousand tons).
China's table grapes are on the rise
China has been on a steep upward trend in table grape production over the past seven years, according to reports from the US Department of Agriculture. The increase in production has reached a point where the Asian Giant has become Peru's greatest threat to its position as the world's top producer.
The country exported 801.3 thousand tons of fresh grapes in 2025, says Oreanda News, up by more than 30 percent from the previous campaign. The site also reports that export values are on the rise, up 11.5 percent in 2025 to $1.03 billion. The US agency projects Chinese table grape production to reach 15 million this season.
