The California Table Grape Commission received $2.2 million in funding through the US Department of Agriculture’s America First Trade Promotion Program.
The grant, said the commission in a press release, will support the expansion of international marketing efforts to strengthen demand for the fruit in key global markets.

The Golden State fruit is exported to more than 60 countries each year, with international markets representing a critical component of industry stability and long-term growth.
With the USDA grant, the CTGC will finance retail and consumer promotion initiatives in Australia, Mexico, Canada, and the United Kingdom, and reinforce California’s position as a global supplier of high-quality table grapes. The industry body said it will also continue to support growers, shippers, and rural communities across the producing regions of the Coachella and San Joaquin valleys.

“This award through the America First Trade Promotion Program represents a meaningful investment in the continued success of the California industry and the communities the industry supports,” said Ian LeMay, CTGC President.
The CTGC remains committed to working with federal partners and international trade members, including retailers, importers, and wholesalers, to expand market opportunities and ensure California growers continue to compete successfully worldwide.
