The Association of Peruvian Table Grape Producers (PROVID) projected 82.6 million 8.2 kg-boxes for the 2026-27 season, sitting five percent below last season.
The decline is reported even as the country’s table grape area reaches 67,000 acres, emphasizing the detrimental effect of atypical climatic conditions on productive potential.
On its LinkedIn account, the organization said the projection already accounts for El Niño’s impact on productivity and leaves the door open to further adjustments as the season progresses.

One of the most important elements shaping the current season is the early start of the harvest, estimated at seven to 15 days ahead of schedule in the main producing areas in the north and south of the country.
Historically, Peruvian table grape exports are concentrated between weeks 41 and 13, starting in the first week of October.
PROVID said current climatic conditions must be continuously monitored to determine their true impact on the season’s final results.
The association recalled that seasons affected by the El Niño phenomenon have registered significant reductions in export volumes.
Nationally, the decline reached 13 percent in the 2017-18 season and 12 percent in 2023-24. In the north of the country, the impact was even greater, with decreases of 38 percent and 30 percent, respectively.

This background shows that the increase in productive area does not necessarily translate into a greater exportable volume when climatic conditions are unfavorable.
Furthermore, PROVID said it will continue to gather information from producers and exporters, while monitoring climatic and productive behavior.

Peruvian table grapes maintain a broad international presence. During the 2025-26 season, the United States accounted for 52 percent of shipments, followed by Europe with 22 percent, Latin America with 16 percent, Asia with six percent, and Canada with four percent.
The association noted that it will continue to update the projection to provide timely information for decision-making.
