Camposol doubles blueberry shipping capacity with new Chao facility

Camposol inaugurated a new 1,000-square-meter facility in La Libertad, Peru. According to the company, the new infrastructure will strengthen the company’s storage and dispatch capacity for the country’s blueberries in the coming years.

The firm said the expansion has allowed it to double its finished product storage capacity, going from 48 to 92 FCL containers. Likewise, the daily shipping capacity increased from 15 to 30 containers, following the addition of three new shipping bays.

The plant will be able to ship twice as many containers of blueberries to international markets every day.

A better cold chain for Camposol

The project also expanded the number of bays for receiving raw material from three to four and incorporated a new entry gate for trucks carrying previously refrigerated fruit from the Yakuy Minka farm's Collection and Cooling Center.

According to Camposol, this infrastructure will reinforce the cold chain from the field to shipping, helping maintain quality conditions throughout the process.

The expanded facility is part of Camposol's anticipation strategy, which aims to set the company up for success amid rising demand for Peruvian blueberries in the coming years. The work was carried out in five months and was completed in July 2026, with no plant interruptions.

"We know that the volume of Peruvian blueberries will continue to grow, and we wanted our infrastructure to be ready before that growth reaches us," said CEO Ricardo Naranjo. “It is an investment in the future of Camposol and in the people who make our operation in Chao possible.”

For his part, Javier Mejía, the company’s Operations Manager for Peru, emphasized the challenge of executing the work without stopping operations, calling it a “coordination challenge for the entire team.”

The work also included a new 150-square-meter entry zone for the plant's operational staff, intended to improve access conditions for workers.
