Ocean Mist Farms selects Zest Fresh to optimize freshness management

PRESS RELEASE

SAN JOSE  - Zest Labs, an AgTech company modernizing the post-harvest fresh food supply chain, today announced that Ocean Mist Farms, supplier of a full line of premium, fresh vegetables from multiple growing regions throughout California, Arizona and Mexico, is utilizing Zest Fresh™ to automate data collection on the condition of its produce and improve process visibility and operational efficiency from the field to the packing house. Zest Fresh helps ensure produce is consistently delivered with maximum freshness and quality. Zest Labs is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ecoark Holdings, Inc. (OTCQX: ZEST).

Ocean Mist Farms is utilizing Zest Fresh to monitor the condition of product from the field through the processing plant, helping reduce costs, improve operational efficiency and optimize labor resources. The Zest Fresh solution collects data using IoT sensors placed in each pallet at harvest and the data is autonomously collected at various processing waypoints to monitor cut-to-cool time, yard dwell times, pre-cool efficiency and cold storage. Zest Fresh validates process adherence and uses cloud-based predictive analytics to provide real-time feedback that empowers workers to improve operations, reduce costs and ensure freshness.

“Zest Fresh give us tremendous visibility and insight into our operations with specific process feedback to maximize product freshness,” said Chris Drew, Vice President of Operations at Ocean Mist Farms. “With Zest Fresh, the continuous operational visibility ensures we’re always delivering the freshest product to our customers.”

“Ocean Mist Farms is a leading provider of high quality produce with a track record of delivering superior products to leading retailers across the country,” said Peter Mehring, CEO of Zest Labs. “We’re excited Ocean Mist selected Zest Fresh to enhance process visibility and further optimize their operations for freshness and quality.”
