In recent years, breeders have introduced many new varieties of high-performance table grapes to Egypt, which are now successfully cultivated by leading Egyptian growers.

The uptick in production and exports is mainly attributed to an increase in harvested areas, new table grape varieties, and improved cultivation practices.

The breeder and licenser of premium table grape varieties has won a legal case against an illegal grower of Early Sweet table grapes, imposing the uprooting of 11 acres of illegal plantation in Egypt and setting a major precedent. 

In addition, if forecasts are realized, this year could also mark the first time Peru surpasses Chile in production, the USDA report said.

These appointments come as part of the company's strategy to extend its reach in "high-potential gateway markets", Sun World said.

The higher estimates exports would come amid a 2.5 percent rise in commercial production to 1.42 million MT, driven by favorable weather conditions, new technologies, and growing demand.

The export volume also reportedly rose by 3% to 120,000MT from September through July.
