Agronometrics has expanded its Global Trade Data offering with new weekly European Union import and export data for table grapes and blueberries. The release gives users a view of both sides of EU trade: what is arriving from each supplying origin into the EU, and what the EU is exporting.
As one of the most important destination markets for counter-seasonal fruit, and with much of its supply entering through a small number of major hubs, the EU sits at the center of the commercial calendar for grape and blueberry exporters worldwide. Weekly arrival data gives the industry a clearer, more current read on how each campaign is progressing.
Applications across the supply chain
Beyond tracking a single origin, the dataset supports a wide range of commercial uses: benchmarking an origin's share of EU imports, following how EU exports to destination markets develop through the season, identifying where supply windows from competing countries overlap, timing shipments around peak arrival periods, and monitoring the effect of climatic events on seasonal programs.
What users are saying
Leading companies in the fresh produce industry are already putting the new data to work.
"Instead of relying on gut feel, we now have real figures behind our decisions. The data shows us how the market has trended over the last few years, what to expect at the start of each season, and how best to engage with retail. People often assume there's a lot of fruit in the market, but this new dataset from Agronometrics gives us a much clearer picture of supply and price levels."
Riaan Swart, Director: Deciduous, Dole South Africa
Colina Fruits, an international berry specialist with operations in Huelva, Spain, and the United Kingdom, connects blueberry growers across South America, Africa and Europe with leading retailers, wholesalers and distribution partners throughout the European market. With premium-quality fruit arriving from three continents, a clear view across origins is central to how the company manages its supply chain.
"The real value of the platform is that it lets us anticipate the impact of incoming volumes into Europe. It helps us make better, data-driven decisions and gives us a deeper understanding of product flows."
Carlos Arceiz Mendoza, Spanish Co-Director, Colina Fruits
